A small number of friends and I have found that we work very well together, each of us bringing different skills and awarenesses to the group. We all work with crystals and sound, but in slightly different ways, yet when we bring all our abilities together, then the magic begins. We have had some amazing experiences that, when we look back on them, are seemingly out of the realms of fantasy yet we all witnessed and participated in them. We travel to sacred sites to offer and receive energetically and sonically whatever is appropriate at those places. The journeys are transformational and empowering and we are always changed when we return to our every-day lives afterwards. Our purposes lie in restoring harmony, and acknowledging and honouring the earth and all beings that live here. There is more information becoming available these days concerning the energy lines that run along the surface of the earth. Some call them Ley Lines, or earth grids, in Asia they are referred to as Dragon Lines. There are a number of different types of energetic grid that encompass the earth and it is with these lines, energies and geometric forms that we work. Nexus points where the lines cross can be places where the earth energies are even more concentrated and powerful and these are often where stone circles and other megalithic structures have been built. A journey, or quest, usually begins with one of us feeling a call or pull to a specific place. When we mention this to other members of the group, it is often the case that they have been experiencing a similar pull, and so we begin to plan the journey. We've learned that it is a good idea to have the first few days planned as far as accommodation and transport are concerned, but after that, we like to be able to go where we need to go, which means that we have to be very trusting that we will find suitable transport, food and accommodation as we go along. We always do. Interestingly, the more we plan, the more our plans end up being changed by circumstances beyond our control, such as the weather, or people we meet along the way. Tools
We use a combination of crystals and sound frequencies and sacred geometric forms as well as our own energies. The crystal and sound frequencies amplify each other and combined with our energies, we create a field that, if allowed to remain for a day or more, ends up expanding exponentially. Depending on which crystal frequencies are needed in each location, some or all of them are placed into a geometric pattern, forming a mandala. It might contain as few as five crystals, or as many as 100 or more. When the crystal mandala is removed, the energy field remains in place. Almost always, one of the crystals from the mandala will agree to remain behind to hold the frequencies available to all beings in that location. Sometimes several crystals will remain there, buried in the earth or in water, or in a stone. There are three primary types of crystal that we work with: quartz, calcite and selenite. We also work with crystals such as aquamarine, hematite, tourmaline, carnelian, aragonite and flourite. With the inclusion of calcite in the mandala, all the other crystal energies are amplified, so we need carry fewer crystals of each type with us when we travel. Quartz is included in every mandala, the majority of it being clear and double-terminated, but we also use purple and green amethyst, smokey quartz and citrine when needed. Clear quartz is an extremely effective recorder of information and energy, and we often use crystals in the mandala that hold the energies of specific sites in their matrices. They are another way of connecting energetically to those sites from that location. Selenite is used to carry light and energy, and does not normally work in the mandala. It is particularly useful when directing the flow of energy to or from one location to another, or when channelling light and energy to where it is needed. It focusses the frequencies into a beam in a way that is gentle and soft, but yet very powerful and easily directed. The strands of the selenite make perfect conduits for the energy to travel along: selenite could be considered as nature's fibre-optics. Apart from the crystals there are certain instruments that we use, including a rather large brass singing bowl, flutes, occasionally drum, and of course our voices using toning and over-toning. How do we work? We have found that we are not called just to give or add to these sites. We receive as well. In the words of one of the group "It went both ways. Always. I never felt that I gave away and never received a gift of energy, the precise energy that I needed in that moment in time. I never felt that I was given gifts of healing without my taking part in the giving." It is a two-way exchange. Unsurprisingly, since we usually spend most of the journey outdoors, we find we engage in a dialogue and exchange with the elements and elementals. They are an integral part of everywhere and everything that we do and learn and offer. At first it was as if we were "reawakening a connection to nature, the spirit of nature that was always our birthright and yet buried and named 'pagan' and heretical." There are also days when we make time to simply be, instead of being focussed on doing, and those times are always nourishing and nurturing. Play is an important part of each journey although sometimes it is challenging to switch off from 'doing'. Almost invariably we meet up with a friend, or friends, or someone else who joins our group for a few days. It becomes like a dance as we weave in and out of peoples lives, coming together and moving apart again, then meeting up somewhere else. Those people bring exactly what is needed into the group energy, and then when their gift has been received, they move on. Thread In each journey we have undertaken, there has been a common thread running through the experiences. It could be described as a particular wave-band or aspect of the universe that we are tapping into or tuning into that leads us into a deeper sense of connectivity and Oneness than we were able to experience before. Sometimes it feels like riding in a slipstream. Everything flows: travelling becomes effortless, all our needs are provided for and we are at the right place at the right time. For example, in Scotland and the Outer Hebrides, the thread that kept coming up was the relationship between Christianity and the ancient Pagan beliefs. Many people on both sides died in brutal circumstances because of their beliefs. As we acknowledged and honoured both the Christian and Pagan traditions, the tension and confusion that we sensed in the landscape and certain locations transformed, and many energies that had been held back were able to move on into a lighter and more compassionate dimension. In Peru, we could say that the thread running through the places and people we encountered was a releasing of old patterns that no longer served us, and simplifying life and belief. Another example is the journey to Cornwall when we were acutely aware of the relationship between humans and the land. At each megalithic site we visited we were reminded of how clearly our ancestors must have understood the earth energies in order to place the circles and other monuments in those locations. Symbols were another thread that we were aware of and that accompanied our individual awareness and processes, many connected with the concept of transformation - moving from one state of being into another, death and re-birth - and codes of honour. Again and again, we could appreciate the skill and intelligence that ancient cultures have used to create the amazing structures in those locations, and then gazed in disbelief as modern, so-called advanced, humans proceeded to climb all over them or pose fleetingly for a photo opportunity before moving on to the next. It is a lesson in honouring the land and the people both past and present, and refraining from judging those who do not perceive the world as we do - and it isn't always easy. Work in Progress They are as much internal journeys as they are outer journeys. Often, the weather mirrors our emotions or thought processes. When we are calm, happy and relaxed, we usually experience clear weather and sunshine. When we are working through releasing old patterns, then it is as if the rain creates a situation where we stay indoors and complete the process. Anything that is out of balance or harmony within us becomes visible and we have the opportunity to transform old patterns and release energies that no longer serve us. The energy of the group is a powerful space if we are willing to surrender our need to control and "be perfect". In a space that allows transformation, the level of love, compassion and understanding that we are able to access with each other becomes part of the magic. It can be a very intense, sometimes emotionally painful, process but is always worth it.
